Headshot Preparation Guide
Professional Business Headshot Attire Guidance
What To Wear For Professional Headshots or Business Portraits?
Dressing well for a professional headshot is essential because it conveys competence, confidence, and attention to detail. Your attire is often the first impression you make on clients, employers, or colleagues, especially in professional settings. Choosing clothing that aligns with your industry standards and complements your personality can enhance your credibility and approachability. Neutral or solid colors work best, as they draw attention to your face without being distracting. Avoid overly busy patterns, logos, or flashy accessories, which can detract from the focus of your expression. A polished, professional appearance in a headshot not only reflects your brand but also sets the tone for how others perceive your professionalism and capabilities.
WARDROBE & ACCESSORIES TIPS
Bring several outfits you feel great wearing and more than you think you need, in order to provide a variety of options to find the best look.
Examples:
Clothes with solid colors and limited patterns are preferred
A nice jacket/sports coat- preferably blue or black
Ties that are plan or have simple patterns
Glasses: Bring them, if you have different styles, bring those as well
Jewelry can be distracting, so less is better
Clothing To Avoid
Bulky, Bright or Loud Colors (e.g yellow, pink, etc)
Wrinkled Clothing
